Chipping
Chipping, face it: you’re scared. You think as strong as you are that a little bit of speed is going to send that ball 400 yards, so instead you chop down at the ball with your 4 mph swing and the ball barely goes two yards, and then you act surprised. You do not take into consideration the fact that you have a significat amount of loft on the club and you disregard the fact that your feet are close together to affect distance. The only thing in your mind is how far you’re going to send that ball over the green.
My question to you is how many times have you sent it long, vice the ball remaining short? Newsflash, you rarely send it as far as you think. Here’s some tips:
- Trust the process of the chip.
- Hands forward through the swing.
- Do not decelerate the downswing.
- Do not roll the wrists.
